Solent Forum Changes Host

The Solent Forum has transferred to a new host organisation, this was a year in the making and involved lots of discussions with the Solent’s coastal community about where and how a Coastal Partnership should be situated.

The Forum is now hosted by the Partnership for South Hampshire, which is a grouping of local authorities who use partnerships to deliver a wide range of strategic work across south Hampshire. Coming under this umbrella enables the Solent Forum to work more closely with these other Partnerships, such as Bird Aware Solent and the Solent Nutrient Mitigation Partnership.

The Forum also requires a legally constituted body to provide operational hosting facilities as it is an Unincorporated Association. This role has been taken on by Southampton City Council, with the Forum Manager post moving to its Growth and Prosperity Directorate.
